An attempt to understand the world of current events, finance and the economy on a level that allows me to teach it. I'm a journalist. Oh and the occasional post about family, life and kids!
Recently I participated in a brief exchange on Facebook on the topic of sexual assault. The person who initiated the discussion was upset by the comments following an article at Jezebel.com written by a woman who had been sexually assaulted on the street. Apparently the nature of the offending comments were of the "I would've broken his hand!" variety.

I will agree in part.
But, I must disagree that women who protect themselves in ANY way perpetuate the rape culture.
I think she is still very much a victim all these years later. But, that should not allow her to wrote against so many women WHO have fought their attackers.
IMHO.
Ghost.
Thank you for the comment.
You are so welcome. I hope to read more soon.
Thank you for visiting my blog – and, on a totally unrelated matter, thank you for leading me to the Misslisted story. And for understanding and supporting the strange mixture of sexual politics and misogyny, ingrained helplessness, fear, and finally plain common sense and self preservation in so many stories (mine included) of rape.
Thank you for the comment!
