Jeremy Truitt

An attempt to understand the world of current events, finance and the economy on a level that allows me to teach it. I'm a journalist. Oh and the occasional post about family, life and kids!

About Jeremy

I’m a 28-year-old married father of two. Two years ago after hard thought, numerous discussions and some financial planning, I decided to exit the workforce from what was a very promising career to return to academia. I was tired of sales, hell I hated it and I wanted to do hard news. I’m a non-traditional student at the J-School at the University of Missouri. I’m studying broadcast journalism and spending time at the local NBC affiliate, KOMU News. I’m mainly interested in business and economics reporting and have definite plans of re-entering the workforce in a career that I’ll be with for the rest of my life.

I have a multi-faceted approach to this blog. 1: I need a place to rehash concepts and ideas so they’re not always pent-up in my head. This obviously helps me learn and teach. 2: I often hear people talk about concepts like unemployment, the elections or big business and they just don’t know what they’re talking about. For this reason I’ll be breaking down some common issues in the most simplistic way I can so I can help pass on knowledge. After all, I’m a journalist (well, almost).

Originally from good ole’ Bakersfield, California, when I finish my degree I’ll take on the rigors of graduate school, then who knows?! Β We’ll never look back to the abyss of California we came from though, that’s for sure.

You can expect posts weekly and sometimes i’ll vary to random topics like vegetarianism! Feel free to look around, don’t hesitate to ask questions and don’t forget to hit the “FOLLOW” button!

Great blog! I started mine for a similar purpose, to get all this stuff outta my head and into the heads of others who need to see it for themselves.
